Why printed programmes fail
Speakers are delayed, rooms are swapped and lunch runs late at every event that has ever happened. The printed programme cannot be reissued, so from the first change onwards your attendees are working from a document you know to be wrong.
Five tracks in five halls is five chances to be in the wrong room. The schedule has to be personal before it is useful.
A room change is only handled if every attendee learns about it — which means a push, not a sign taped to a door.
Attendees rarely read a programme end to end. They ask what is happening now and what is next.
Who is on stage is part of deciding whether to attend, and hunting for it in a separate PDF is why nobody does.
